1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using our website or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you ("the Client", “you”) and Epilogue ("we", “us”, “our”).

2. Services Offered

Epilogue provides system navigation and support services to older adults (age 65+) and their families. This includes (but is not limited to):

* Identifying appropriate community, healthcare, and social services
* Supporting the completion of forms and applications
* Guidance with transitions to home care, retirement, or long-term care

All services are non-medical in nature. We do not offer diagnosis, treatment, or legal/financial advice.

3. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use our services. If you are acting on behalf of a senior or another individual, you affirm you have their consent or legal authority.

4. Fees & Payments

  • Fees are disclosed clearly on our website and during the booking process.
  • Prices are in Canadian Dollars (CAD) and are subject to HST (13%) where applicable.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise arranged.
  • We accept credit card, PayPal, and other payment methods supported by Shopify.
  • An itemized receipt will be provided upon payment.

5. Cancellation & Refund Policy

For Services:

  • You may cancel with at least 24 hours' notice—before the initial appointment for planning packages or any upcoming session for ongoing support—for a full refund.
  • Planning packages are refunded in full; ongoing support refunds apply to the monthly fee only.
  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice before initial or recurring meetings are non-refundable.
  • Missed appointments without prior notice will not be refunded.
  • If Epilogue must cancel or reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund or alternative appointment will be offered.

For Downloadable Resources:

  • Due to the nature of digital content, purchases of downloadable resources are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded.
  • You may request a refund prior to accessing or downloading the resource.
  • If a digital product is defective, corrupted, or materially different from its description, you may request a replacement or refund within 14 days of purchase.
  • Refund requests must be submitted to hello@epilogue.support with your order number and a description of the issue.
  • Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

6. Consumer Rights & Compliance

Epilogue complies with the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario):

You are entitled to a written copy of this agreement, which will be provided by email upon booking upon request. You may cancel a service agreement within 10 days of receiving a written copy under Ontario’s cooling-off period, if applicable.

All pricing and service descriptions are truthful and not misleading, in accordance with the Competition Act.

This agreement is valid in electronic form under the Electronic Commerce Act, 2000. By booking services or purchasing digital content, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.

7. Use of Website

You agree not to use our website or services for any unlawful or abusive purpose, including:

  • Misrepresenting your identity or authority
  • Attempting to disrupt the operation of the site
  • Violating the rights or privacy of others
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for misuse.

8. Privacy & Confidentiality

All personal and health-related information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable Canadian privacy legislation, including PIPEDA.
We will not share your information without consent unless legally required to do so.

9. Limitation of Liability

Epilogue provides informational and guidance-based services only. We are not responsible for the decisions or outcomes of third-party services or organizations we refer clients to.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Epilogue disclaims any liability for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages related to your use of our services or digital products.

10. Amendments to Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website. Continued use of our services or website after any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada.
